Hi, friends!
A miscellany of things for you, like a fistful of spring flowers:
ONE » Weaving the Strands Together of Two Outrageous Minds
I recently had a conversation I loved with Christian Baxter of the Yours Truly podcast (conversation embedded below, or click the picture above). Christian’s vision is that Yours Truly be “a place to think out loud,” and I found it to be exactly that: Spacious, free, genuine, creative, refreshingly noncombative.
I hope you can watch or listen to our conversation. Christian is a great dude, and I shared pretty much my whole spiritual life story of the last twenty years, including my latest struggles with Orthodoxy in America.
Please hit like on the video if you like it and please do subscribe to Christians’s channel, whether or not you like it (you’ll like him, man, he’s great; and the people he brings in for the podcast, like himself, are a breath of fresh air).
TWO » Let’s Talk Face to Face, or At Least Something Like It
Speaking of conversations, here’s a re-invitation to full subscribers to join me for a one-on-one Zoom call, if that sounds fun—just sign up for one of the Friday Sessions here. The time slots are 4pm and 5pm, Minnesota time, on Fridays. I expanded the calendar, so there are more open time slots now. Here you go:
And if you’re not a full subscriber yet, today’s a wonderful day to ascend to the next level, showering gifts on those of us down below:
Thank you so much!
THREE » The Giving and Receiving of Community-Forming Gifts
Speaking of subscribing: If, like many of us, you’re finding it hard to scrounge up enough lettuce for things these day, this is a reminder that the 50% discount for an annual subscription is always here for you, whenever you’d like to use that:
Alternatively, if now is just not a good time to be dropping greenbacks on things like substacks, but you really do want to read this one, just send me a direct message in the chat tab and let me know—I’d be happy to give you a subscription as a gift.
On the other hand, if you have plenty, here are two ways to give gifts to others while also supporting my work as a writer:
Thank you!
yours in Messiah,
-graham
Late to the Substack game, but you’ve pulled me in Graham : ) thanks for the plug but more importantly for the conversation brother, I’m so glad you reached out. Here’s to hope my friend!
I finally got the chance to watch your interview with Christian Baxter. Your transparency and honesty is inspiring, as is your devotion and persistence in reaching for something that hasn’t yet been revealed. I was very moved by your description of your mystical encounter with God and your intense feeling that God is your father. I was also moved by your recognition that in the midst of the struggle, you are growing closer to God, which is worth everything.
